Welcome to the same really bad website I've had for a year now. It really isn't very good butI'm working on a new one,
your best bet is to follow my facebook page. You can click on the link on bottom right corner.
My store in Salem has closed for the season but my work can be found by contacting me directly. You can either order original prints by emailing me at higginsad@mac.com or calling me at 978 944 1709. My face book page is the best source of new prints.
I am finding some galleries and high end fishing / tackle shops around New England to display my work. You can also find some of my originals at "Local Colors" in Gloucester, MA. http://www.local-colors.org/
There are some prints and shirts at the cafepress site. The quality is pretty good but make sure you really look at the images you are ordering. www.cafepress.com/fishedimpressions
Thanks -Joe
Gyotaku has it’s roots in 19th century
Japan where fisherman would
record their catch by making an impression of it by coating the fish
with ink
and then rubbing paper on it to reveal a print. My prints are all done
from fish I've caught since the spring of 09. I typically get 4-5
prints per fish and no two are the same. All original prints are done on rice or sumi paper and can be sent out next day. All
the fish were eaten after the prints were made and were delicious,
except the albie. If you have a fish and would like a print of it -keep
it on ice and give me a ring.
To inquire about any fish print shown contact Joe at
You can see some of the originals at my gallery in Salem, Mass. You will also find my shirts at First Light Anglers in Rowley, MA and Badfish Outfitters in Falmouth, MA, be sure to call ahead to make sure they have them in stock.
Because each prints is lifted directly from the fish, they are quite large in
some cases. A 28 inch bass will be printed on a sheet of 36 x 24 rice paper.
